Ann Evans was born in Coventry, where she still lives. Writing under her married name of Ann Evans she now has around 30 books published in a variety of genres: children’s books, YA, reluctant readers, crime/thrillers and romance (under the name of Ann Carroll). She also writes for various lifestyle and hobby magazines.

She was a Feature Writer for the Coventry Telegraph for 13 years, and she went on to become a staff Feature Writer.

Her books have won a number of awards: A Little Secret, a book for reluctant readers, won the Coventry Inspiration Book Awards 2019 in the Rapid Reads category; The Beast took the Raring2Read category in the same awards in 2013; and Keeper, another reluctant reader book was runner-up in these awards in 2018. A Little Secret was also  short listed in the Reading Rampage 2019 – Leicester Book Award.  A Little Secret has also been shortlisted in the 2020 Doncaster Reading Rampage.  Viral is Ann’s latest reluctant reader title published January 2020.

Ann is currently writing a new historical romance and children’s novel for middle grade readers.
