Biography
Donna Ansley is a Dublin born actor and writer. She is a founder member of Aurora Theatre company with writer Noelle Harrison. The company have produced four multi media theatre pieces, all written by Harrison: The Black Virgin, The Good Sister, Run Away Wife and Northern Landscapes. Donna produced and acted in all four shows. Her writing work includes a multimedia theatre piece,The Frog Pajamas, on the topic of mental health and the perception of the psychiatric condition (yet to be produced). She is currently working on a novel about the same topic.
She has worked with Playwright and Actors Theatre Company playing Ophelia in Hamlet and Portia in the Merchant of Venice . She has also worked with Down to Earth Theatre company and Pink Panda . She has worked extensively with writer Neil Donnelly and Micheal Harding devising new works. Her TV work includes Holby City, Family Affairs and Faircity. Short film credits are Silicon Valerie, Blue Void, Quando and Marie Curie, a documentary for HBO. She has also studied contemporary dance choreography, organic gardening and nutrition. She has worked as a yoga teacher and given demonstrations on natural food preparation and more organic ways of living.
