Biography
Cathy McGarvie has an MA in creative writing and crime fiction from the University of East Anglia, and she has drawn from her medical and corporate background to develop her characters. After pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical and medical equipment industries, she left the corporate world behind and studied Osteopathy, spending many years in private practice.
Her training in bereavement volunteering often required dark humour at difficult moments and this gave her a privileged viewpoint from which to craft Evan’s personality. Her work is included in the 2022 UEA anthology which has a foreword by Lee Child and an introduction by Tom Benn.
Cathy has also written poetry and short stories under her pseudonym Kit Morrell. Her work has been shared locally and globally by healthcare organisations and on radio.
